FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: passenger car gangway has passage foot plate hinge-secured on end face wall of railway car and resting on support, foot plate lifting mechanism set into action by spring. Novelty is that foot plate 2 is made extensible with plate 3 and apron 8 loaded relative to each other by spring 9 installed on foot plate turning axle 7 and connected with apron 8 through slot Bell crank 16 is hinge-mounted on axle 7 for engagement with foot plate 2 through its arm 23 and spring loaded by means of resilient member 17 of end face wall. Other arm 21 of bell crank is locked by boss 22 of lock member 18 installed in bearing supports 20 of end face wall and provided with arm secured on lock member 18 for engagement with apron 8 when being moved to each other. Bell crank 16 is locked by boss 22 by means of wedge member. Apron 8 is made in form of casing enclosing plate 3.
