APPARATUS FOR CHOPPING SPENT FUEL CHANNELS FROM URANIUM-GRAPHITE REACTORS

FIELD: nuclear power engineering, running of atomic power stations. SUBSTANCE: installation incorporates vertical tube circuit mounted in pit of reactor room with gear to chop process tubes into fragments, mechanism to remove graphite bushings, driving horizontally-moved cutter to break away compressed end of process tube and telescopic tube of path to shut off jaw of installation for cutting of process tube with mechanism for its vertical translation. Mechanism for vertical translation of telescopic tube of path is manufactured in the form of power cylinder with cable reeved off in telescopic tube. Rotary wheel with containers is also included into installation. EFFECT: increased productivity of installation.
