PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from reading erroneously the balance by recording special signs other than figures and characters on a blank digit of a balance figure display column when the number of digits of the balance amount of money is less in comparison with the number of digits of the balance figure display column. SOLUTION: The display positions of 'balance' and 'Yen' and the positions of digits of respective levels of a balance figure display column 42 are fixed. When the balance is 'level of '¥1000', the digit of the level of '10,000' becomes blank. For instance, when the balance of '¥10,000' was displayed in the initial stage and is rewritten as '¥9500' thereafter, the digit of level of '10000' is not rewritten, and in the case a residual image remains, although the figure '1' on the level of '10000' is of density lower than the displayed figures of other levels, it can still be read, which involves the danger that the user reads the same erroneously. To avoid it, a smeared-away pattern, for instance, a black square pattern is recorded overlappingly on the residual image '1' of the level of '10000' forming a blank digit. As a result, '1' on the level of '10000' is masked securely, and the user is protected from misreading a figure on the level of '10,000' which is actually not thereon. |
