PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed or return a cable smoothly even if the pitch of a float thereof is irregular by applying a soft sponge-like material to the outer circumference of a wheel. SOLUTION: The cable feeder is used when a signal cable with a float for nondestructive inspection is inserted into the pipe of a heat exchanger. A sponge 1 (soft member) is applied to the outer circumference of a wheel 2 so that a cable 5 can be fed or returned even if the pitch of float 4 becomes irregular. When the wheel 2 is turned, the cable 5 and float 4 are pushed against the inner circumferential part of casing 3 and the float 4 is buried into the sponge 1 and held in place and then the cable 5 is fed or returned. The float 4 is provided in order to generate thrust using high pressure water or compressed air at the time of inserting the cable 5 into a pipe of heat exchanger and secured to the cable 5 through injection molding. Inspection is performed using various sensors fixed to the forward end of cable 5. |
