PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a nonlinear resistor to be improved in uniformity of resistance distribution and enhanced in discharge withstand current rating by a method wherein the nonlinear resistor is formed of material composed of zinc oxide as a main component and diantimony pentoxide or/and diantimony tetroxide as additives. SOLUTION: A nonlinear resistor is composed of zinc oxide as a main component and diantimony pentoxide or/and diantimony tetroxide as additive. These antiomony compounds are ground into powder which is 0.5 to 5μm in cumulative average grain diameter, and a ratio of a cumulative 10% grain diameter (μm) to a cumulative 90% grain diameter (μm) is 1:4 or below. The material powder, water, and binder as dispersant are put in a mixer and mixed together. The mixture is sprayed and granulated into granules through a spray dryer or the like. Granules prescribed in weight are introduced into a mold and molded into a disk with a prescribed pressure. Then, the disk is subjected to a thermal treatment to remove binder from it. |
