PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Bi based superconducting wire rod having high toughness by substituting a prescribed quantity among an occupying rate of Cu with Fe in a superconducting wire composed of a Bi type oxide having a prescribed general composition formula. SOLUTION: After a prescribed quantity of Bi(NO3 )3 , Pb(NO3 )2 , Fe(NO3 )2 , Ca(NO3 )2 , SrSO3 and CuO is dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, a residual raw material is dissolved by adding water. Ammonium oxalate aqueous solution is mixed, and it is filtered, and a deposit is dried, and is baked, and Bi based oxide powder is formed. This is sealed in a tube, and after cold working, it is annealed in an oxidizing atmosphere, and a Bi based oxide superconducting wire is obtained. In a Bi based superconducting material which has a general composition formula of (Bi, Pb)2 Sr2 Ca2 Cu3 O10 and has a layered perovskite structure belonging to a tetragonal system, when 0.001 to 0.1 mole among an occupying rate of Cu is substituted with Fe, a Bi based superconducting wire having high toughness can be obtained. |
