HOT-REPAIRING MATERIAL FOR FURNACE BOTTOM BRICK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-repairing material for the bottom brick of a DC electric furnace having self fluidity under high temps., capable of excellently seizing on an electrode brick and prolonging the service life of the electrode brick. SOLUTION: On hundred wt.% repairing material contains 30-50wt.% fine powder having <=0.125mm grain size. The material is kneaded with a novolac phenolic resin soln. prepared by dissolving a novolac phenolic resin as a binder in org. solvent so that the phenolic resin component is controlled to 10-20wt.% as an external addition to obtain the repairing material. Otherwise, terpenes as an additive is substituted for a part of the phenolic resin to obtain repairing material so that <=80wt.% terpenes are jointly used. The repairing materials are excellent in self fluidity at high temps. and has a high strength.
