PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wide line of sight without turning a camera by by outputting a stereoscopic image picked up by two sets of TV cameras each with an ultrawide angle lens mounted thereto onto a stereoscopic monitor. SOLUTION: An ultra wide angle stereoscopic camera employing two sets of TV cameras 2 each with an ultrawide angle lens 1 mounted thereto and which are apart at a prescribed interval toward an object is placed on a universal head 3 in a panning/tilting enable way. A stereoscopic image picked up by the camera is outputted to a stereoscopic monitor placed in a remote control operator's seat at a remote location for the display for the operakor. For example, for the purpose of remote control of an operator's seat mobile crane for transportation of slab for a rolling mill line, in the case of mounting the ultrawide angle stereoscopic camera, the ultrawide angle lens 1 is set with a horizontal angle 95 deg. of visibility corresponding to the operation condition. In order to correct the deterioration in depth perception attended with deterioration in the resolution due to an ultrawide angle, the interval between the cameras is selected to be 250mm larger than the interval between human eyes. |
