PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a sample, preferably the fat of an organic sample. SOLUTION: Fat is eluted from a sample through extraction 1 using a high boiling point solvent 6. Since a high boiling point solvent 6 is used, fat is entirely eluted and time required for eluation can be shortened greatly. A base 5 is added simultaneously with extraction to saponificate the extracted fat thus forming the salts of a fatty acid contained in the sample. The salts of the fatty acid are than subjected to another process where they are separated and analyzed. According to the method, fat of an organic sample 4 can be determined accurately based on the fatty acid contained in the sample. |
