PRODUCTION OF POLYPROPYLENE RESIN FOAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process whereby a polypropylene resin foam excellent in stiffness and impact strength and having a beautiful appearance can be produced even when the resin extrusion temp. is set as high as near the m.p. of the resin. SOLUTION: A resin compsn. comprising 60-80wt.% ethylenet propylene block copolymer having an ethylene content of 5-20wt.% and a melt flow rate of 2-10g/10min and 40-20wt.% polyethylene having a density of 0.93g/cm<3> or higher but lower than 0.94g/cm<3> and a melt flow rate of 0.1-2g/10min is compounded with a blowing agent and foamed by extrusion.
