PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in large quantities and inexpensively bearing seals with remarkably improved forming accuracy and an optimum sliding pressure by forming a lip part wherein the peripheral edge of an elastic ring is made to project from the peripheral edge of a punched metal ring. SOLUTION: As a metal sheet C, a sheet material such as a steel sheet, an aluminum sheet and a stainless steer sheet is used. As an adhesive 1 applied on the metal sheet C, phenolic adhesives, nitrile adhesives, epoxy adhesives, etc., can be used and the metal sheet is immersed in a tank wherein either of these adhesives are stored and it is dried naturally or by baking. The metal sheet C coated with an adhesive 1 as well as a filmlike elastic material are fed between two rotating rollers to stick the elastic material on the metal sheet and this is press-forming to obtain a seal material provided with a thin film elastic body D2.
