PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert an input image into a line drawing like in real time. SOLUTION: The edge signal of an input image that is detected by an edge detection means 2 is normalized by a normalization means 3 and then undergoes the nonlinear conversion 4 to decrease its halftone components. Such a converted edge signal is used as a key signal for mixture of two signals. These operations can be carried out in the simple processing such as the multiplication or addition. Thus it is possible to obtain in real time such a line drawing like where only the edge having a large contrast change is extracted out of the input image. |
