PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a castable refractory excellent in strength, resistant to slag corrosion and to rupture, and applicability. SOLUTION: Sodium aluminate is incorporated by 2-20 pts.wt. into 100 pts.wt. of the refractory material contg. >=90 pts.wt. of >=1 kind among magnesia, pure spinel and magnesia-rich spinel. Consequently, a high strength is provided from room temp. to high temps., the resistance to slag corrosion is improved, the slurry viscosity is stabilized, and further the dangers of rupture are reduced at the time of raised temp. |
