Preparation of porous mineral solids for catalysts

A new preparation of porous mineral solids comprises the following steps:a) formation of an aqueous gelatinous metallic hydroxide precipitate from a metallic salt and a base or acid, or a metallic hydroxide gel;b) substitution of the water in the gelatinous precipitate by a liquified gas;c) raising the temperature and pressure of the liquified gas to a level sufficient to form a super critical fluid;d) evacuation of the fluid in a gaseous state.
