PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an amorphous alloy strip which is high in magnetic flux density and low in iron loss by a method wherein a very small amount of Se and Te is added to an Fe-Bi-C amorphous alloy strip compounded in composition as prescribed. SOLUTION: An amorphous alloy band has such composition represented by Fea -Bb -Sic -Cd -Me , where M is an element selected out of Se and Te, a, b, c, d, and e represent at% of each element, and a, b, c, d, and e are so set as to meet following formulas, a+b+c+d+e=10, 78<=a<=84, 10<=b<=14, 1<=c<=9, 0.05<=d<=2, and 0.001<=e<0.1. Or, 80<=a<=81, 10<=b<=14, 1<=c<=8, 0.05<=d<=2, and 0.001<=e<=0.1 or 80<=a<=81, 10<=b<=14, 1<=c<=8, 0.5<=d<=2, and 0.001<=e<0.1. By this setup, an amorphous alloy strip high in saturation magnetic flux density, low in iron loss, excellent in processability, and suitable for a power transformer can be obtained. |
