The brake device of an automobile is capable of performing parking braking by improving an existing wheel cylinder, to thereby reduce the number of components and simplify the construction of the device. The brake device of the automobile having a drum, a pair of brake shoes, and the wheel cylinder provided with a pair of pistons(21), comprises: a pair of second pistons(23) arranged by a predetermined distance between the pair of pistons(21) via a return spring(24); a cam(25) installed to be contacted with the opposite surface of the second pistons(23) on the cam surface(26) thereof and rotated centering around the one shaft thereof to move forwardly/backwardly the second pistons(23); and a lever(31) rotatably connected to the cam(25) via a shaft(27) and connected to a parking lever via a cable(32).
