PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery with high conductivity, high active material utilization factor, and high energy density by forming nickel hydroxide on the surface of a nickel metal porous film. SOLUTION: Figures show the manufacturing process of a positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery. (a) is an anodized alumina porous film formed by anodizing an aluminum plate 1 in an acidic solution bath to regularly arrange pores 3 made of alumina 2. A nickel film 4 is formed by sputtering or the like as shown in (b). Methyl methacrylate monomer is filled in the pore 3 and PMMA 5 is formed (c). The resin-filled alumina porous film is treated with a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to form the negative form of the PMMA 5 (d). A nickel layer 6 is formed by electroless nickel plating (e), the PMMA 5 is removed with a solvent, and a nickel porous film is formed (f). The nickel porous film is treated with an alkaline aqueous solution, and nickel hydroxide 8 is formed on the surface of the nickel layer 6 (g). |
