PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation of a document preparing device by making CO-ROM have a Japanese dictionary, directly selecting KANJI(Chinese character) from plural KANJI candidates an retrieving a meaning. SOLUTION: A document preparing device 1 is provided with an input means 2, a KANA(Japanese syllabary)/KANJI conversion dictionary storage means 3, the Japanese dictionary storage means 4 of CD-ROM having a Japanese dictionary, an output means 7, a KANJI converting means 5 retrieving the KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary storage means 3 and a meaning retrieving means 6 retrieving the Japanese dictionary storage means 4 of CD-ROM. A KANA character string inputted from the input means 2 is given to the KANJI converting means 5 by the depression of a KANJI conversion key. When KANJI with the same reading as that of the input KANA character string is stored in the KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary storage means 3, the KANJI converting means 5 gives a corresponding KANJI candidate list to the output means 7 so as to make it visible. The meaning retrieving means 6 reads the meaning of the KANJI candidate which is selectively designated from the visualized KANJI candidates from the Japanese dictionary storage means 4 and it is made to be visible in the output means 7. |
