PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the container wall without modifying the structure of a sensor by providing an adapter part which can be secured to the container wall of various shape and material, and a sensor block for coupling an ultrasonic sensor member removably to the adapter part. SOLUTION: In order to monitor the upper and lower limit levels Hmax, Hmin of a liquid 11 filling a container 10, filling level sensors 13, 15 are fixed to the outside of container wall 12. The sensors 13, 15 are connected with electronic excitation and evaluation circuits 14, 16 and determine whether the liquid 11 in the container 10 reaches the height of sensor 13, 15 through the wall 12. The sensors 13, 15 are constituted as an ultrasonic sensor for delivering ultrasonic pulses toward the wall 12 when they are excited with AC voltage pulses received from the electronic circuits 14, 16 and converting the ultrasonic pulses into receiving ultrasonic signals being delivered to the electronic circuits 14, 16. Since the circuits 14, 16 evaluate the receiving signal and delivers a signal indicative of limit monitoring level from the output side, the sensor is not required to touch the liquid directly. |
