The adhesive strip applicator has a motor-reduction drive (22) with a first gearing (26) engaging a second gearing (28) to rotate an actuating arm (14) around a main axis (20) fixed to the frame (24). A positioning and cutting assembly for the tape (12) has a handling arm (50) pivoting on an axis (52) of the actuating arm (14) between raised and lowered positions. A cutter lever (58) cuts the tape when the handling arm is raised. The motor drive is controlled electrically and further controls synchronise movement of the motor drive and handling arm.
