PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make character information easy to see by light guiding luminous flux from display information to an observer with an optical system containing a luminous flux coupling element and stereoscopically displaying the character information overlapping a see-through image for the see-through image. SOLUTION: A computer 109 outputs respectively the character information for left/right eyes among the display information as e.g. a VGA signal to convert it to an NTSC signal by a VGA-NTSC converter 108. A display drivers 106, 107 display the character information on display elements 102, 103, and irradiation light from back lights 104, 105 pass through display elements 102, 103, and is made incident on the left eye 110 of the observer by the optical system 100 for the left eye, and is made incident on the right eye of the observer by the optical system 101 for the right eye. Then, the character information among the display information overlapping displayed on the see-through image is stereoscopically displayed for the see-through image. |
