PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the toner consumption by executing elimination of image data expanded in a bit map in the unit of main scanning dots in a black dot area without losing a shape of the image. SOLUTION: The processing unit is provided with a main scanning count section 510 counting the number of dots in the main scanning direction of image data expanded in a bit map. Then when a discrimination means (not shown) discriminates it that no correction is required and dots discriminated to be undesired dots are code information in plural bits denoting black dots which are surrounded by other black dots, the code information in plural bits other than part of the code information being the result of discrimination of whether or not dots require correction by the discrimination means is replaced with main scanning count in plural bits outputted from the main scanning count section 510 and correction data are read from a memory block 505 by using the code information as an address and outputted. |
