PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory which can suppress needless access to a memory and can reduce power consumption of a system. SOLUTION: An address clutch 5 and a tag latch are provided in a control circuit, an address and a tag of a preceding cycle are stored in them respectively, when access is continuously performed for a memory array 1, a control signal S9 of a high level is outputted by a detector 9, comparators 7, 8 are operated, an output signal S10 of a gate circuit 10 is controlled in accordance with output signals S7, S8 of these comparators. Further, a decoding circuit 2 is controlled through a gate circuit 11, when an output signal S11 of the gate circuit 11 is a low level, access to a tag part 101 is not performed, but only access to a data part 102 is performed by the decoding circuit 2. When an output signal S11 of the gate circuit 11 is a high level, access is performed for both the tag part 101 and the data part 102. |
