PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a motion of an image of a JPEG(joint photographic experts group) compression data reproduced at a high speed observed smoothly and to surely reproduce the JPEG compression data even when a 'scene' in the data observed only in a short time. SOLUTION: A control section 5 uses a work buffer 2 and a decoder buffer 3 to extract partial pattern data having a number of scanning lines of '1/n of number of all scanning lines of one frame' and in existence at positions of the scanning lines not in duplicate with positions of other partial pattern data on scanning lines from each of pattern data groups of consecutive frames equal to number of reproduction multiple (n) (pattern data group forming JPEG compression data in a storage device 1). Furthermore, the control section 5 re-configures pattern data by one frame by synthesizing n-sets of partial pattern data. A decoder 4 conducts decoding processing based on the re-configured pattern data by the control section 5.
