PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit generation copies from being made without revision of the configuration of a television receiver through superimposition of information relating to copy limit in a form of an XDS signal stipulated by a standards of a closed caption broadcast. SOLUTION: Control information CGMS relating to copy generation limit is superimposed on a 21st line for a vertical blanking period of an analog television signal in a format of a closed caption XDS signal stipulated by a standards of a closed caption broadcast. The XDS signal is made up of a clock line period, start bits and a 16-bit digital signal. The digital signal is divided into 2 bytes being characters 1, 2. The information stipulated by the XDS signal and the CGMS information are identified with each other by the start bits, the character 1, and/or the character 2. The recorder identifies the CGMS information of the 21st line to limit copy generation. |
