PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the root in a heat conduction system quickly and with high accuracy, to estimate the temperature of the steel during a process and to process the stell by on-line, on the heating and cooling conditions of a wide range, by calculating the specific value of an analysis solution by a specified algorithm. SOLUTION: The root Xn of the specific transcendental equation Cot Xn=Xn/ Bi is calculated by the algorithms of an expression I to an expression III. Xn : the nth root (-) of the transcendental equation and Bi: Biot number (-). At first, Dn is calculated by the expression I. In this case,αn,βn andγn are the values which are selectively set by the value of n, andαn,βn andγn are 0.006<αn<0.011, 4, 800<βn<10,00 andγn<1, 220, respectively. Next, Yn is calculated by the expression II. In this case, a=(1+D×Bi/3), b=(n-1)πand C=Bi. Lastly, Xn is calculated by the expression III. The temperature of the steel during the process is estimated based on this Xn and the input/output quantity of heat to the steel is adjusted.
