<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both of good electrification property and long life by depositing silica with substitution of silanol groups for a specified structure on the surface of toner particles containing a binder resin and a specified coloring material. SOLUTION: A silica with substitution of silanol groups to a structure expressed by formula II or formula III is deposited on the surface of toner particles containing a binder resin and a coloring agent expressed by formula I. In this case, when a compd. having a chemical structure expressed by formula IV is used as a charge controlling agent, a nonmagnetic one-component magenta toner having good electrification property and excellent image quality can be obtd. Further, the nonmagnetic one-component magenta toner is supplied to a developing device to develop a latent image. The developing device consists of a developing roller which forms a layer of a nonmagnetic toner, a supply roller which is in contact with the developing roller and supplies the nonmagnetic toner, and an electrifying blade for the nonmagnetic toner which is in contact with a toner carrying body, and the latent image holding body faces the developing roller. As for the binder resin of the toner particles, not only an epoxy resin but styrene or acryl resin can be used.</p> |
