<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an asynchronous transfer mode interface having provision for change of a network station by providing a scheduler, an address generator, a host memory, a payload generator, and a head generator or the like so as to generate ATM cells. SOLUTION: A scalabel asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) interface 300 is provided with a scheduler 310, an address generator 330, an allocation host memory 340, a payload generator 350, and a head generator 370 or the like. A controller 380 maintains tables and registers or the like in each generator. The address generator receives a channel number from the schedule, and converts it into an address. The allocation host memory retrieves a datagram to which an address corresponds. The payload generator applies formatting to the datagram into the ATM cell having a CRC or the like so as to form a payload of the cell. A selector element 365 couples the header and the payload to generate an ATM cell.</p> |
