PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply electric power only to a required device when a navigation action is not needed during driving so as to save the electric power consumption. SOLUTION: According to a setting by a user, an electric power supply unit selecting means 1 selects a unit to which electric power is to be supplied among a global positioning system(GPS) receiving device 2, a self-contained navigation means 3, a map data storing/reading means 4 such as a CD-ROM. If navigation action is not required during driving, the electric power supply unit selecting means 1 stops electric supply to the self-contained navigation means 3 and the map data storing/reading means 4 so as to save the electric power consumption. On the other hand, electric power is supplied only to the GPS receiving device 2, and a time until the start of the navigation action is shortened. |
