<p>A method for forming a vehicle headrest having an improved appearance over the prior art includes the steps of making a shell (22) with two small openings (27) in a bottom wall. The post for mounting the headrest to a vehicle seat is a generally U-shaped item. One leg (26) of the post is inserted through one of the small openings (27) in the shell, and the post is manipulated relative to the shell such that the leg is caused to extend outwardly of the second small opening (27). Once the post is properly received within the shell, foam (44) is injected into the shell to fill the cavity. Since there is no large opening required in the shell for insertion of the post, no seams must be covered, concealed or closed to result in acceptable appearance for the final headrest.</p> |
