Stripper for removing outer layer of HV cable i.e. outer semiconducting layer of polymer HV cable

The stripper has a housing (20) containing a rotatably driven holder (21) with clamp arms (23') for clamping a cable and for guiding the stripper onto the cable. A cutter (30) with a blade (31) for cutting the outer semiconducting layer can be preset to a desired depth of cut and its inclination with respect to the holder can be preadjusted in three planes. The cutter has a setting plate (38) on which the blade is mounted by means of a blade holder on a blade guide. The plate has three separate threaded bores (36) for setting pins (37) and is fixed on the holder by a bolt (39) passing between the bores.
