<p>An improvement of the conventional method of wrapping cryogenic insulation around an inner tank (1) disposable within an outer tank of a cryogenic tank system, where cryogenic insulation paper (8) is unrolled from a roll thereof, wrapping the paper (8) in serially disposed wraps around the inner tank (1), unrolling cryogenic insulation metal foil (9) from a roll thereof and wrapping the foil (9) in serially disposed wraps onto respective serial wraps of the paper (8). In the improvement there is provided at least one combined roll (30) of cryogenic insulation having alternating combined layers (31) of the paper (20) of a defined first width (23) and foil (21) of a defined second width (24) wherein the defined second width (24) is less than the defined first width (23) and the foil (21) is centered on the paper (20) so as to provide edge portions (25) at each edge (26) of the paper (20) which are not contacted by the foil (21). Lengths of combined layers (31) are unrolled from the combined roll (30), and the lengths of combined layers (31) are serially wrapped around the inner tank (1).</p> |
