METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RINSING

In endoscopy the field of inspection or operation frequently has to be rinsed. This may be carried out by alternate rinsing with a fluid and a gas which are expelled through a line. The disadvantage of the known method is that relatively large quantities of fluid may be required and the fluid can only be expelled using limited pressure thereby reducing cleaning capacity. The invention proposes to fill a proximal section of the line with a fluid quantity defining a fluid stopper (13) and to accelerate said stopper using the gas (16) fed into the line downstream of the fluid quantity, and to expel it from the line opening at a high final or discharging speed. The cleaning capacity can therefore be increased for reduced quantities of fluid.
