<p>A halohydantoin product and method for producing solid halogenated hydantoin forms using melt extrusion. The form of the products includes tablets, briquettes, pucks, dispensers, designer forms such as Christmas ornaments, pellets and granules. The halogenated hydantoin compounds used include halogenated methylethylhydantoins alone or in admixture with halogenated dimethylhydantoins. Compositions used to make the forms can include additives such as solubility modifiers, compaction aids, fillers, surfactants, dyes, fragrances, dispersants, lubricants, mold releases, detergent builders, corrosion inhibitors, chelants, stabilizers, biocides, bromide sources, or oxidizing halogen compositions. The product as well as improved feedstock is obtained via melt extrusion. Feedstock may be used for making forms by compaction without dust.</p> |
