An intimal thickening inhibitor comprising a compound of general formula (1) as an active ingredient, wherein X is oxygen or (2) (wherein n is an integer of 0 to 2); R1 is hydrogen or acyl; R2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkenyl; R3 is lower alkyl; and R4, R5 and R6 are each independently hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, or alternatively R3 and R4 may be united to form a 5-membered ring and R5 and R6 may be united to form a cycloalkyl group, with the proviso that when the ring formed by R3 and R4 is benzofuran or benzo¢b!thiophene, R6 is nil.
