FIVE-MEMBERED FUSED HETEROCYCLIC AZEPINE DERIVATIVES AND PHARMACEUTICAL USE THEREOF

Five-membered fused heterocyclic azepine derivatives represented by general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<6> represent each hydrogen or lower alkyl; R<5> represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or phenyl; A<1> represents oxygen, sulfur or -NR<7>-; A<2> represents -CR<8>R<9>- (wherein any one of R<8> or R<9> represents hydrogen with the other representing hydrogen, hydroxyl or lower alkyl); and A<3> represents oxygen, sulfur, -NR<11>-, or a single bond; and Z represents halogeno, a heterocyclic group or the like. These compounds are excellent as prophylactic or therapeutic agents for vasopressin-related diseases, for example, congestive heart failure, edema, particularly cerebral edema, syndrome of inappropriate secretion of ADH, hypertension, etc., and as a diuretic.
