<p>The shelf unit consists of upper and lower shelves attached to supports formed by side and/or rear panels, either or both of which can be made in two matching halves (200,206). Each half panel is thicker at one end (202,208) where it acts as a shelf support, and the two halves are joined together by their thinner edges. The joints between the two half panels can have inserts (214) let into recesses (212) in the faces or edges of the panel halves.
