Microbiological analytical environment and procedure to detect yeasts of the species Candida albicans

The invention relates to a method of microbiological analysis for the selective detection of yeasts of the species candida albicans, a culture and detection medium using the said method and a device comprising a packaging of such a medium. The method consists in placing the sample to be analysed directly in contact with an identification medium comprising a nutrient base metabolised by the yeasts, a chromogenic or fluorigenic substrate capable of being hydrolysed by an enzyme of the group of hexosaminidases and at least one hexosamine-containing compound.
