PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel uncleic acid which can hybridize with a nucleic acid sequence of the gene of cysteine-rich outer membrane protein of a specific molecular weight of a bacterium belonging to Chlamydia and is useful for simple, prompt, and exact detection and strain identification of pathogenic Chlamydia strains. SOLUTION: This novel nucleotide can hybridize with a nucleic acid sequence of 60kDa cysterine-rich outer membrane (OMP2) of a bacterium belonging to Chlamydia, having a part or the whole of nucleic acid sequences of formulas I-IV or a part or the whole of their complementary sequences and enables direct, simple, prompt and exact detection of strain identification of pathogenic Chlamydia strains. This nucleotide is prepared by inverstigating the nucleic acid sequence of the gene of 60kDa cysteine-rich outer membrane protein (OMP2) of a strain belonging to Chlamydia to find that a specific region of the OMP2 gene can be utilized for detection and identification of the strain and by chemically synthesizing this characteristic nucleic acid sequence. |
