983,802. Photographic image transfer apparatus. AGFA A.G. Feb. 8,1963 [Feb. 10,1962], No. 5276/63. Heading G2A. Two photographic sheets are pressed together to effect an image transfer by passing them between a rotatable heated drum and an endless band of water-tight elastic material of low heat conductivity. Suitable materials for the band are various silicone, butyl or nitrile rubbers. Because of the water-impervious nature of the band, the steam formed from the moisture present cannot escape outwardly, but is forced into the photographic layers. In the form shown, the exposed lightsensitive sheet and the transfer sheet (4a, 4b), after passing between moistening rollers 7a, 7b, are carried round between the heated drum 1 and the endless band 2.
