METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF POLYURETHANE-BLOCK FOAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain polyurethane block foam having no cavity by obstructing the flow of foam with respect to the moving direction of a transport belt by the substantially vertical barrier fixed and arranged so as to traverse the transport belt. SOLUTION: An almost vertical plate-shaped barrier 6 obstructs the expanse of foam 5 in the moving direction of a transport belt 1. The barrier 6 is closely brought into contact with a lower laminated film 2 in order to prevent air from flowing in the gap between the lower laminated film 2 and the lower edge part of the barrier 6. Pref., the barrier 6 is supported so as not only to be freely movable in the longitudinal direction of the transport belt 1 but also to be freely rotatable centering around the axial line vertical to the transport belt 1 and, at the time on manufacture, the position of the barrier 6 can be optimized. An upper laminated film 8 is spaced apart from the supply position of foam 5 in the moving direction of the transport belt 1 to be supplied through the deflection roller 7 immersed in the foam 5.
