PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a food for infants useful especially for the infants requiring the control on the ratio of an n-6 series/n-3 series polyvalent unsaturated fatty acids in order to especially develop a brain or nervous systems or patients suffering from allergic diseases by regulating the ratio with a perilla oil and blending the resultant edible oil and fat therein. SOLUTION: This food for infants is prepared by regulating the n-6 series/n-3 series unsaturated fatty acid ratio to 0.1-7, preferably 0.3-6 with a perilla oil at 0.3 fatty acid ratio described above and blending the resultant edible oil and fat therein. Concretely, a modified milk is obtained by preparing, e.g. an oil and fat at 6 fatty acid ratio mentioned above, replacing an oil and fat used in a well-known modified milk converted into a breast milk with the resultant oil and fat. Thereby, an excellent modified milk further converted into a breast milk is obtained. Furthermore, a food and a drink for preventing the allergy or a food and a drink for patients suffering from allergic diseases are preferably prepared by regulating the fatty acid ratio to about 4 without using an animal oil and fat as the oil and fat. In addition, the use of soybean oil, rice oil, corn oil, etc., is preferably restrained by considering the grain allergy. |
