<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a water-based ink compsn. which possesses excellent safety and resistance to a change with the elapse of time, does not cause any deterioration in antibacterial activity upon a change in pH and is excellent in antibacterial activity against destructive fungi by incorporating a particular compd. into an aq. ink. SOLUTION: Benzylidiethyl[(2,6-oxylcarbamoyl)methyl]ammonium benzoate represented by the molecular formula C28 H34 N2 O3 is incorporated in an amt. of 1 to 40,000ppm into an aq. ink compsn. comprising a colorant (pref. 1 to 18wt.% based on the total amt. of the ink), water (pref. 40 to 80wt.% based on the total amt. of the ink) and, if necessary, a surfactant, a pH adjustor, and a humectant. This provides a water-based ink compsn. having excellent antibacterial activity.</p> |
