PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wall of the tapered tip part of a composite pipe from being unevenly built in thickness. SOLUTION: Air uncured thermosetting resin prepreg incorporating a long fiber is wound around a mandrel 1 with a specified taper 31, and further, a wrapping tape 2 is wound around the wound prepreg to keep the prepreg in good shape. Next, a shape retaining fitting 3 with the inner wall having the same taper 31 as the tapered tip part 11 of a composite layer, around which the prepreg is wound and further, the wrapping tape 2 is wound, is fitted into the tip part 11. Then the prepreg is thermally cured. Thus, the shape retaining fitting 3 fitted into the tip part where the unevenly built wall thickness is apt to be generated, along with the thermosetting process, almost entirely eliminates this phenomenon. |
