SOLUTION: This new human PEC-60like protein contains an amino acid sequence represented by the formula and is an alimentary canal hormone secreted by a gastric tissue and useful as a medicine for treating or diagnosing diseases in digestive organs, immunological systems, nervous systems, etc., or an antigen, etc., for preparing an antibody against the protein. The protein is obtained by separating an mRNA from a human gastric tissue, using the resultant mRNA as a template, synthesizing a cDNA, further preparing a cDNA library according to a conventional method, determining the base sequence of an optionally selected clone, converting the base sequence into an amino acid sequence, selecting a clone containing a gene of the human PEC-60like protein from a protein database, integrating the gene into a vector and expressing the gene in a host cell. |
