PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkles from occurring to a package on transverse sealing even in the case of packaging block-shaped substance. SOLUTION: An elastic deformative skirt member 20 dangling down to a position right above a part where transverse sealers 18 and 18 mesh with each other is provided at the lower end of an article filling cylinder 12. The skirt member 20 elastically deforms as a tubular film F deforms, being drawn by the sealers 18 and 18, and holds the tubular film F, stretching the film from its inside toward its entire circumferential area. A film holding device 24 for holding the film from both sides at a position right above the transverse sealing part of the tubular film F is provided at a position above the transverse sealers 18 and 18. An article lifting device 42 for holding the substance to be packaged filled in the tubular film F from the outside and lifting the substance for a specified distance on occasion of transverse sealing is provided at a position beneath the transverse sealers 18 and 18. |
