PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the excellent web control unit of a printing press by providing a means applying pressure to a web at the position in the lateral direction between a pair of the side edge parts of a web and a means controlling the pressure applying means so as to apply pressure of selected magnitude to the web. SOLUTION: A web 10 has usual width L when it is taken out of a roll is order to be passed through a printing press 12 but, when moisture of ink is bonded to the web by the cylinders 16, 18 of the multicolor printing unit of the printing press 12, moisture is absorbed by the web 10 and the web 10 expands laterally to become a dimension L' and the non-registering of the web 10 is generated in the printing press 12. The control unit 14 related to a plurality of the pressure parts 20 arranged between both side edge parts 20a, 20b of the web 10 so as to leave an interval in the direction traversing the web 10 reduces the lateral width of the web to a dimension L or a desired dimension. The pressure part 20 is adapted to the surface 24 of the web 10 equipped with both surfaces. |
