<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a data exchanging device for any motive power unit and to use it even for motive power units manufactured by different manufactures by arranging a transmitter-receiver, which is installed in a maintenance device and in a motive power unit, in the motive power unit in a detachable manner. SOLUTION: A transmitter-receiver 1 has an inspection circuit and a communication circuit in its casing 2, while a radio/infrared-ray transmitting-receiving surface 3 forms a part of a radio/infrared-ray transmission line led to a maintenance device. In addition, a plug 4 is installed in the bottom of the casing 2. The plug 4 having a plurality of plug-in contacts can be inserted into a diagnostic plug-in socket, which is installed in an engine room of an automobile, in a communication-maintainable manner. Power supply to a module 1 is carried out via this diagnostic plug-in socket. The module 1 holds serial communication between controlling apparatuses mounted on the maintenance device and on the automobile, and it is used to measure a signal peculiar to the automobile. The transmission between the module 1 and the maintenance device is held without a cable.</p> |
