PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing highly pure lead fluoride, solved in the defects of conventional technologies by removing transition metal impurities and oxygen impurities. SOLUTION: The method for producing lead fluoride comprises a water dissolution process for dissolving a water-soluble lead salt in water to produce an aqueous solution, a pH-controlling process for controlling the pH of the aqueous solution to approximately 4, an impurity-extracting process for adding oxine and chloroform to the aqueous solution, an organic phase-removing process for removing an organic phase generated in the impurity-extracting process, a precipitation process for adding a fluorinating agent to the aqueous solution left after the organic phase-removing process, a dehydration process for dehydrating the precipitates generated in the precipitation process, and a drying process for drying the precipitates with at least one of hydrogen fluoride gas and fluorine gas. |
