<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition that can give a fast black matrix having hiding power and high in blackness by blending a black pigment made up of two or more metal compound oxides and having a spinel or inverse-spinel type crystal structure and a binder. SOLUTION: This composition for forming a black matrix comprises (A) a compound oxide black pigment made up of two or more metal oxides and having a spinel or inverse-spinel type crystal structure and (B) a pigment binder. The component (A) is a compound oxide containing, as components, Cu, Cr, Fe, Mn, Co, Al, Ni, Zn, Sb, Ti, and Ba and use is made of a black compound oxide of Cu-Cr, Cu-Mn, Cu-Fe-Mn, Co-Cr-Fe-Mn, or Co-Fe-Ni-Cr. The component (B) is a mixture of an organic binder and a low-melting glass frit (a powder of lead borosilicate glass or the like). This composition is good at dispersibility and can give an excellent black matrix that can endure the high-temperature firing at the time of the production of color filters of liquid crystal displays and glass substrates of luminescent panels.</p> |
